Free Research Summaries, Modules, Webcasts and More Made Available to Both Patients and Physicians through the Effective Health Care Program

Comparative Effectiveness Resources

  • This research compares drugs, medical devices, tests, surgeries or ways to deliver healthcare. Research summaries made available through AHRQ's Effective Health Care Program are designed to help clinicians and patients compare a variety of healthcare interventions and treatments and understand the benefits, harms and side effects.
  • Free research summaries are also available to help patients prepare for their medical appointments and work together with clinicians to determine the best treatment options. MAOPS is one of over 350 partners in the Effective Health Care Program nationwide.
  • The program focuses on 14 priority health conditions:  breathing; cancer; developmental delays; ADHD and Autism; diabetes; genitourinary conditions; gynecology; heart and blood vessel; infectious disease; mental health; muscle, bone and joint; pediatrics; pregnancy and childbirth; and renal disease.
