How Does MAOPS S.P.E.A.K. Up for the Profession?


 

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) four-year strategic plan (2015-2018) has officially kicked off, and MAOPS is thrilled to S.P.E.A.K. up for the profession!

 

The plan hinges on how each of the five pillars collectively support osteopathic physicians, patients and the profession. MAOPS will achieve this goal through the five pillars.

 

 

 

1) Strengthen

Enhance organizational structure and use resources to best serve the profession.

  • Leadership training opportunities

  • State and national policy development

  • Student and resident scholarships

  • Personalized member services

2) Promote 

Increase awareness of osteopathic medicine among the public and profession, while improving member awareness of the Association.

3) Educate 

Provide educational resources and opportunities.

  • Continuing medical education
  • Practical skills training
  • Online enrichment
  • Members only eAlerts

4) Advocate

Engage in advocacy activities at the local, state and national levels to protect and advance osteopathic medicine.

  • Grassroots advocacy programs
  • Dedicated lobbyist
  • Legislative and regulatory monitoring an action
  • Individualized, state and national representation

5) Knowledge

Provide timely and relevant information and expertise to members.
