Mission Statement Preserve a positive practice environment for osteopathic family physicians in Missouri and enhance the distinctiveness and identity of osteopathic physicians.
Nature and promote osteopathic students, interns and residents in pre and post graduate training in osteopathic family practice.
Provide quality osteopathic educational opportunities to osteopathic physicians, students and post graduate physicians.
Work closely with the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians to assure the goals and objectives of the National Association are met and the osteopathic family physicians in Missouri are represented at the National level. Goals and Objectives
Take positions on health care policy issues affecting family physicians, their patients and communities.
Increase the Society’s support and visibility with the student chapters of thee American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians at osteopathic colleges in Missouri.
Increase the recognition of the Society among state agencies impacting on family medicine.
Increase the recognition of the Society in the osteopathic family practice post graduate programs in Missouri. Enhance the programs of the ACOFP in Missouri, particularly with relations to the students.
Provide osteopathic family physicians with information of the Society’s activities.
Increase the membership of the Society. Provide quality medical educational program opportunity (ies) for family physicians in Missouri.
Encourage Missouri osteopathic colleges to allow students to be more actively involved in the educational programs of the Society and encourage their activity in the Missouri Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians events and business meetings.
Maintain an open line of communication with the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and all osteopathic specialty groups in Missouri, to work for the good of the whole osteopathic profession. |
