Brian represents MAOPS at all local, state and federal meetings, as well as with the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). He also directs legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts. Along with the Association’s president, Brian visits osteopathic district affiliates, colleges of osteopathic medicine and postgraduate programs. He serves as the staff liaison to the Association’s Executive, Legislative, Leadership Development and Physician Health Committees, as well as various task forces and fast action teams. He is a past president of the Association of Osteopathic State Executive Directors.

Brian has been married to his wife Chris for 25 years. They have four children: Miller, Sam, Elly and Mikaela. When not working, Brian spends his time traveling to his kid’s events, reading, hiking, fly fishing and making bamboo fly rods.

Chris wears many hats at MAOPS, serving as the associate executive director, chief financial officer, human resources manager and Missouri Osteopathic Annual Convention coordinator. The MAOPS Central Office team has also dubbed Chris as the “database queen,” given her keen ability to make sense out of data and essentially make data magic happen with ease. 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her four children, baking, reading and pursuing family activities.

Jeff Buthod

Jeff recently joined the MAOPS team as the Director of Education.  His background is in education, and he served as a teacher and coach for fifteen years and then as a school administrator for the past twelve years. Jeff is responsible for planning the Midwest Osteopathic Annual Convention (MOAC) as well as planning smaller regional conferences and a variety of special events. He will also lead the Education and Convention Committee in the development and implementation of continuing medical education (CME) programming. Other responsibilities include working with staff from Missouri’s Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine on educational goals and working with the student chapters of MAOPS. 

Jeff has been married to his wife Sharla for 29 years, and they have two kids:  Blake (24) and Tara (21). He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, traveling, attending sporting events, exercising, and watching movies.  He looks forward to serving the MAOPS members and to helping improve the osteopathic profession in the state of Missouri.

Sadie graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism with a degree in Strategic Communication. At MAOPS, she is responsible for all marketing and communications, including newsletters, online advertising and social media.

Sadie enjoys traveling, attending concerts and spending time with family and friends. She is looking forward to using the skills she learned at Mizzou to serve MAOPS members

Sara joins the MAOPS team with extensive experience in sales, marketing and customer service.  She is responsible for assisting, Jeff Buthod, Director of Education in all areas of need.  When you call in to the office, Sara will probably be the one to greet you!

When not working, Sara loves spending time with family and friends. Doing anything outside is always the best.
